MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z overclocks to a whopping 2.45 GHz?

If you are into overkill hardware, you might want to check out this card. While these images found on VideoCardz do not reveal the cooler, the PCB has been revealed in all its nakedness. This PCB reportedly belongs a MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z, which has yet to be launched.

The PCB goes over the top with three 8-pin PCIe power connectors. NVIDIA’s standard reference design specifies two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, which will deliver 300W of power. These triple 8-pin PCIe power connectors will be capable of sending in excess of 450W of power into the MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z, and that’s before we even count the 75W from the PCIe slot itself.

All that power is fed a whopping 19-phase VRM setup, with 13 of the MOSFETs cooled by a dedicated heatsink and heatpipe which spans the left half of the card. Another 6 phases are on the other side of the card. With such a beefy power delivery setup, we can expect this card to be the wet dreams of hardened overclockers. There’s no hints to the cooler but it should be a huge one to allow for some overclocking on air, before you move on to more exotic cooling solutions.

Apparently this cards facilitate the ridiculous 2.45 GHz clocks achieved, but of course that’s not on air. The insanely high clocks should have been achieved with LN2 cooling slapped onto the cards.
