Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 9 renders

With success in Q4 2017, it seems that HMD Global is set to launch their new flagship smartphone. The reportedly named ‘Nokia 8 Pro’ is rumored to come with Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, Snapdragon 845. It would mean an upgrade to the their previous flagship Nokia 8’s Snapdragon 835.

Besides the SoC, the new device is said to improve on the camera section where it is said to come with a rotating, penta-lens dual camera module that can rotate to change the camera’s focal length and expand the camera’s zoom range. All this while partnering with longtime lens manufacturer Carl Zeiss.

Since it’s just a rumor with nothing officially confirmed yet, other specifications are still in the dark, but the camera on the Pro might not be too far off from Nokia 8’s shooter. The former has a 13MP RGB sensor with 1.12-micron lens, a f/2.0 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and a secondary 13MP monochrome sensor.

The device appears to sport a fingerprint sensor just right below the camera setup, similarly to the upcoming Nokia 9. It has been circulating that the phone will also have 3D glass, both on the front and at the back of it. It should have an 18:9 display (quite a norm in the market today).

Seeing on how good the Nokia 8 was when it was launched. Here’s to hoping that Nokia 8 Pro (or Nokia X should they call it that) will bring more excitement.
