If you thought the ROG Phone’s AeroActive Cooler was cool, nubia has something for you. The nubia Red Magic 3 sports an active cooling system embedded in the body itself. And what’s even more interesting is that nubia managed to seal the nubia Red Magic 3 well enough to give it an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.

The fan in the nubia Red Magic 3 can spin up to 14 000 rpm so it will definitely be quite audible. It is a part of the nubia ICE 2.0 cooling system, which will drop temperatures by up to 16°C. The system draws in air from the holes on the back above the fingerprint scanner and exhausts them out of the phone near the top trigger button.

It will also come with a dedicated gaming switch, similar to the Black Shark 2’s physical toggle. From the looks of it, you will enter a gaming mode when you toggle the switch, giving you a game launcher, if you see the need for such a thing. Meanwhile for audio, you will be feted by stereo front facing speakers with DTS X Ultra audio enhancement.

Further amping up the gaming capabilities of the nubia Red Magic 3 is the ability to use the fingerprint scanner as a trigger. nubia has already equipped the device with two triggers on the edge of the device, so you will be having a lot of convenient ways to trigger on-screen actions without actually tapping them on the screen. Pretty cool stuff.

If you are into connecting additional accessories, the nubia Red Magic 3 will support a clip-on dongle that will give you the 3.5mm jack, USB-C port for charging and interestingly, a 100 Mbps LAN port. No idea why would you need a LAN port, but perhaps this is meant for serious gamers where WiFi just won’t cut it.

Pokdepinion: To be honest I am suprised the device didn’t turn out like a brick given the battery and embedded fan.
