OPPO A71k: Bang for your buck?

OPPO has just released the OPPO A71k, their newest budget friendly smartphone. A slightly less powerful version of the recently re-released OPPO A71, the OPPO A71k comes with a downsized 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, compared to the OPPO A71 which has 3GB of RAM and a 32GB internal storage.

In terms of the device’s specifications, it’s pretty much on the lower tier side as it is meant to be a more wallet friendly device than your average mid-range device. The OPPO A71k features a 5.2 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 and as mentioned above, the device only has just 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Under the hood, the OPPO A71k packs an octa-core MT6750 Mediatek processor as well as a decent non-removable Li-Po 3,000 mAh battery. The device will also run ColorOS 3.1 which is based off of Android 7.1 Nougat.

In terms of the device’s cameras, the A71k rocks a f/2.4 5MP selfie camera paired with A.I. Beauty Technology which enables users to capture beautiful and real selfies at anytime and anywhere. As for the rear shooter, the device features a 13MP with a f/2.2 aperture. It’s worth noting that the OPPO A71k doesn’t feature a fingerprint sensor instead it will be relying on the ever popular Face Unlock feature to unlock the device. Of course the alternative is you could just unlock the device with a normal password if you wish to do so.

The OPPO A71k will retail for a very low price of RM 599 and will be available in three different colour variants which are Gold, Black and Blue. You can purchase this budget friendly device either from any OPPO Concept Stores around the country or online at OPPO’s official website.

Pokde[inion: This looks to be a really good option for those wanting a smartphone with the popular Face Unlock feature without worrying about breaking the bank. also this looks to be a good option for parents wanting to get their kids a starting phone. Heck, I’d get this for my 12-year-old sister.
