Blizzard Finally Fixes Major Overwatch 2 Ranking System Bug

It appears that there was a bug plaguing the ranking system in Overwatch 2 after all, and it’s finally fixed. Now, you don’t have to stay stuck in Bronze anymore.

Apparently, the Overwatch 2 ranking system has been failing to recognize player progression to some degree, making it rather difficult for a good number of players to rank up. This is why you hear online that some gamers to claimed to have won several games straight or had more wins than losses, but still their rank go down.

Now, it has been fixed but unfortunately, the damage might have already been done. Many players have voiced their frustration since the launch of Overwatch 2, with a number of them quitting the game as well. Of course, there is always a chance they could come back but with other games like Warzone 2.0 and Apex Legends having a new map, it’s hard to say for sure.

In case you were wondering, the issue with the ranking system isn’t related to the player’s actual skill level but the system itself. Blizzard has kept mum about the issue until it got fixed, which certainly caused some frustration within the community for their lack of transparency.

With that out of the way now, hopefully we can see more proper ranked games in Overwatch 2. There will be no free boosts or anything of the kind so you will have to work your way up the hard way even if you got the short end of the stick from the bug. On the plus side, at least lower rank games should be easy to play.

Overwatch 2 is currently available for free on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Pokdepinion: Yeah, at one point, I had 5 straight wins, 1 loss, and 2 straight wins but found myself being stuck in Bronze 5. I’m not sure how that was logical given I was performing decently at worst but let’s see if it really has been fixed.
