It is rumored that Qualcomm is working on their latest chipset, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 that is allegedly to be much bigger than the standard smartphone and will have staggering performance.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000

The Snapdragon 1000, a new chip built by Qualcomm for Windows 10 laptop, is reportedly to be able to go head-to-head with Intel’s Y and U-Series Core processors. It is said to have a 6.5W power draw for the CPU itself, coming with a 12W for the entire SoC.

Currently being tested, Snapdragon 1000 can support up to 16GB of LPDDR4X memory, 2 x 128GB UFS 2.1 memory, and also support for Gigabit WLAN.

Inside of the chipset, it’s expected to use ARM’s Cortex-A76 architecture and will be using TSMC’s 7nm manufacturing process.

This is still in the rumor stage, but we should learn more as we come near to CES 2019.
