realme is Gearing Up to Launch Smart TV This Year 21

One of the fastest rising technology brands in the market right now is realme. At just 18 months old, they have already obtained the 7th rank for global smartphone market share. Now, it appears that they’re set to expand the business even further with a smart TV lineup.

According to realme Chief Marketing Office Xu Qi, they are planning to launch the realme TV sometime in 2020. The business model and back-end supply chain is currently still being explored at the moment however. Previously, it was rumoured to be coming by end of 2019.

Apart from that, they will also be looking to enter the IoT field, with the idea of launching more comprehensive IoT products around personal, family, and travel situations. This will include audio products, wearables, TVs, and more.

realme believes that they can maintain its growth of more than 100% in 2020, which means their smartphone sales are likely to exceed the 50 million mark. Xu Qi is banking on 5G and “AIoT”, which is said to be a major focus in their development. In fact, they are looking to go full force into 5G in China in 2020 and will stop launching 4G products.

Furthermore, it was revealed that they will achieve full coverage of 5G this year and are looking to launch 5G smartphones with a price range of 1500 yuan / USD $216 / RM885.92 to 2000 yuan / USD $288 / RM1181.23 this year.

Pokdepinion: That sounds really cheap but we also have to take into account that pricing will be different due to currency. We’ll just have to wait and see if it lands in Malaysia for the actual pricing.
