Today marks the arrival of the new Redmi Note 8 series, where Xiaomi Malaysia introduced the Redmi Note 8 as well as the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Starting off with the Redmi Note 8, it packs a Snapdragon 665 chipset and there’s three variants available; 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB.

Screen wise, it comes with a 6.3″ Dot Drop display with FHD+ resolution. Under the hood is a 4000mAh battery and it comes with a USB Type-C port that you can utilize up to 18W fast charge.

There’s also the camera configuration to talk about, where it comes with a quad setup. It offers a 48MP+8MP+2MP+2MP combo at the back. As for selfies, it offers a 13MP front camera.

Should you pre-order from today till the 10th of October 2019, you can get the 4GB+64GB version of the Redmi Note 8 and get a free Mi True Wireless Earbuds Basic, which is worth RM99.

Next up is the Redmi Note 8 Pro, where it is actually one of the first smartphone in the market to feature MediaTek’s upper mid-range chipset, the Helio G90T. Compared to the Redmi Note 8, the Note 8 Pro comes with two storage configurations; 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB.

Another upgrade is that definitely the 64MP main camera that’s found in its quad camera setup. After playing with the device, we can’t argue that it does capture a whole lot more detail, even after zooming to the picture. You’d notice that though the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro looks similar. One thing that sets them apart is the rear camera placement. For the Redmi Note 8, the camera is fitted at the top left side of the device. Meanwhile the Redmi Note 8 Pro puts it just in the middle.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is indeed a little bit bigger, with it having a 6.53″ Dot Drop display. Other than that, it has NFC fitted in.

Though the price starts from RM1099, Xiaomi has revealed that they are hosting a special early pre-order promo, where you can get the 6GB+64GB version of the Redmi Note 8 Pro at just RM999 on Shopee and Lazada, starting from today till the 11th of October 2019.
