While the iPhone 7 received a lot of flak for losing its 3.5mm jack, it seems like Samsung is not averse to criticism. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is reportedly going to not come with a 3.5mm jack as well to go even thinner while packing a bigger battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to be very important for Samsung after their previous flagship, the Galaxy Note 7, were all recalled after posing a significant explosion hazard to users. We aren’t sure how their fans are going to react to the removal of the 3.5mm jack, but the larger battery may be welcome. The S8 is also expected to feature a stereo speaker configuration, developed in partnership with Harman.

Worth noting is that this isn’t the first Android device to send the 3.5mm jack the way of the dodo, with several Chinese manufacturers doing it first, some even before the fruity company took the leap of “courage”. The HTC Bolt or known internationally as the HTC 10 Evo also dropped the 3.5mm jack for some questionable reason.

What do you think? Will you miss the 3.5mm jack, or are you already using Bluetooth earphones like the Sudio Vasa Bla right now? Let us know in the comments section!

Pokdepinion: I really do not see why do we need our smartphones any thinner. A 3.5mm jack definitely comes in handy, even though I use wireless earphones everyday now. Still, the increase in battery capacity might make it all worthwhile.
