SOCAR Malaysia Launches TREVO — People-to-people Car Sharing App

The folks at SOCAR Malaysia has today launched TREVO, a new people-to-people (P2P) app that allows you to book any car that fits your needs from the nearest car owners.

With Malaysia having one of the world’s highest ratios of private car ownership (93%), the app will allow drivers access to cars when needed, without the hassle of of committing to ownership of one.

Users can also loan out unneeded cars instead of just leaving them lying around. With the app, you can loan a car from as low as RM55 a day for a Perodua Myvi. You can even go all out on a Rolls Royce. Aside from that there’s compact cars, hatchbacks, sedans, coupes, as well as SUVs and 4x4s.

They claim that hosts can easily claim their monthly car installments as long as they share their care at least 6-8 days per month. As for the pricing, hosts can choose their own pricing as long as it falls within the pricing band that the company has set.

As for protection, they have something for both vehicle owners and renters. For guests (renters), they have 24/7 Roadside Assistance support, Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) which limits how much they need to pay for damage repairs in case of accidents.

On the other hand, vehicle owners can get their hands on Trevo Shield which they claim offers up to RM3 million in liability protection. They also can opt-in for Trevo Track, where you can tell by the name that it provides a high-accuracy locating tracking of your vehicle.
