Sony Brings Back Smartphone Division Back To Malaysia — Sony Xperia 1 Available For Preorders Starting Tomorrow

It’s been quite some time since we heard about Sony and their Xperia smartphones. Well now it seems that they are back to our shores here in Malaysia where they’ve revealed that they will start to take pre-orders for their latest flagship, the Sony Xperia 1.

The Sony Xperia 1 is the world’s first 4K OLED smartphone that comes with 21:9 CinemaWide display at 6.5-inches as well as HRD remastering technologies. Its display is powered by their BRAVIA TV technologies. In addition to that, it supports wide color space ITU-R BT.2020 as well as DCI-P3 with Illuminant D65.

In terms of photography, the phone offers a triple lens setup at the back with all three of them being 12MP respectively (wide, telephoto, and ultra wide). As for the front, there’s a 8MP selfie shooter.

Other than that, it comes with a Snapdragon 855 chipset, 3330mAh battery that you can charge with its Type-C port, and Dolby Atmos sound.

Coming in Black, Purple, and Grey color variants, the Xperia 1 will be available in the country from early October 2019 at selected Sony Centres at the price of RM4,299. Those who pre-order for the smartphone, which starts on the 24th of August 2019, will get their hands on a free Sony WH-1000XM3 (Black), while stocks last.
