It seems that Sony might soon introduce their new IMX607 sensor which is said to be packed in the upcoming HUAWEI P30 Pro.

Sony IMX607 38MP Leaked — Reported To Feature In HUAWEI P30 Pro 29

The new sensor was found leaked at Weibo just recently. According to the leak, the Sony IMX607 is a 38MP CMOS sensor that is aimed for low light photography performance.

Its 1/1.8-inch sensor uses a Dual Bayer instead of Quad Bayer and it adds a White HDR Coding. Other than that, it is reported to come with a high signal-to-noise ratio, quad pixel PDAF, enhanced noise reduction as well as three native ISOs (50/500/5000).

It will be some time we’ll see it though as HUAWEI usually launches their P series in March, regularly in the first quarter of the year. As it is, there’s not much details on the phone, but we should expect for it to pack the same Kirin 980 chipset that’s already available in their current flagship, the Mate 20 series.

Pokdepinion: Aiming at low-light photography eh? I don’t mind the idea at all. Hopefully it would further improve the already established HUAWEI camera performance that’s already available.
