Soon, You Can Use the Same WhatsApp Account on Multiple Devices 20

WhatsApp is arguably the most popular instant messaging platform that’s widely available today. Of course, there are notable alternatives around like Telegram for example. One feature that WhatsApp lacks compared to Telegram is the ability to use the same account on multiple devices. At most, you can use it on a single mobile device and also a single PC using WhatsApp Web. Soon, that may no longer be an issue.

According to a rumour posted by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is said to be working on a completely new system. This system will allow users to use one account on more than just one device, similar to Telegram. It will push sent and received messages to all devices configured for a specific account, so you can start chatting on one device and continue from where you left off on another. This will be supported on both Android and iOS, so messages will be synced across both platforms, making the migration from one to the other easier.

Aside from that, WhatsApp is currently developing dedicated apps for Windows 10 that would enable PC users to chat on the messaging service without an active connection to the PC. This means that a new session on the same phone number would be activated on the computer, so even if your phone no longer has an Internet connection, you should still be able to send and receive messages on the desktop.

This makes WhatsApp Web and dedicated desktop apps a little bit redundant, albeit they could come in handy on devices where the new Windows 10 UWP app is not installed. WhatsApp Web works by syncing with the mobile phone, so it needs an active Internet connection on the mobile device.

There is no word yet on when this would be arriving. In fact, the details haven’t been made official so do take it with a grain of salt. We expect to hear more about this as we approach the end of the year. Stay tuned to Pokde.net for more details.

Pokdepinion: I prefer Telegram because of its versatility. It sure took Whatsapp a long time to add this feature.
