Steam Summer Sale Dates Leaked – All Hail Lord Gaben

Well guys, it’s that time of the year again. The time where money flows from the pockets of gamers like rivers of wine flowing endlessly along the banks of Paradise. The time of year where buyer’s remorse runs rampant like The Great Plague of the 14th century. Brace yourself lads, for the Steam Summer Sale is coming.

Of course I’m exaggerating a little here. Steam Sales are probably the most anticipated periods ever to happen in the gaming world with the Steam Summer Sale being the biggest and most anticipated one. This is the time when you can get some of your favourite PC games at an extraordinarily cheap price. It’s also the time where gamers sometimes pick up obscure and unheard of games just because they’re, well, cheap.

However, Valve don’t usually reveal the dates of their sales period; which makes sense in a way considering how it’ll impact overall sales prior therefore, actual starting date of Steam Sale periods become more of a guessing game among gamers. Until somebody leaks the dates that is, which happens almost every year and this year’s no different.

The dates were leaked via a screenshot posted on Reddit (via PC Gamer) where, according to the user this year’s Steam Summer Sale will start on June 22 all the way to July 5. Fair warning though, this might turn out to be a huge pile of baloney considering how easy it is to create a fake Steam post. Then again, the screenshot was posted on the Steamworks group, which is only meant for developers so there might be some truth to it. Considering last year’s Steam Summer Sale was done around the same time I’d say the leak has some merit there.

Whatever the rumours are just know this, Steam Summer Sale is definitely upon us so get your wallets and your souls ready.

Pokdepinion: I’ve developed a strong enough backbone over the years to withstand the might of Lord Gaben and his damn discounts though I still occasionally find myself buying some random, almost unheard of games just because it was cheap. Like the majority of Malaysians, I’m a sucker for anything cheap even if I have to use Google Translate just to make some sense of the game’s menu. Don’t regret it though.
