Transcend’s latest piece of hardware seems like a bit of a throwback for me. I have not seen mSATA slots for a very long time as the industry transitions to M.2. But if you have a mSATA slot in your system, this may be one of the fastest SSDs you can get for it. The Transcend MSA450T features 3D TLC NAND for better performance and endurance, everything you need from an SSD.

The Transcend MSA450T’s 3D TLC NAND takes performance to the next level, especially when compared against its predecessor. Write speeds have more than doubled from 160MB/s on the MSA370, to 400MB/s on the new MSA450T. Further enhancing the performance is a DDR3 DRAM cache which functions as a buffer.

Keeping things in check is LDPC error correction code to ensure data integrity and flash longevity. Speaking of things in check, you can keep an eye on the status of the drive with the comprehensive Transcend SSD Scope Pro suite. You can monitor your drive, do diagnostic scans, view S.M.A.R.T. status and more.

The MSA450T comes in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities, with a 3-year limited warranty.

Pokdepinion: The capacity seems rather limited, even in the constrained form factor..
