Toshiba OCZ VX500 SATA SSD announced with latest Toshiba MLC NAND
Toshiba has just announced the launch of the OCZ VX500 SATA solid state drive series. The VX500 SSDs are designed for mainstream desktop and notebook users who are looking to get a speed boost by replacing their HDDs with solid state storage. The Toshiba OCZ VX500 SSD series feature superior endurance and promise a faster and more responsive PC experience.
With OEM-level testing that provides validated reliability and built with the latest Toshiba MLC NAND flash, the VX500 SSD series promises endurance ratings of up to 592TB written (TBW), making it suitable for write-intensive applications such as content creation, gaming or as a scratch disk. With the MLC NAND flash used, the Toshiba OCZ VX500 SSD series promises over 3X the endurance of TLC-based SSDs.
The Toshiba OCZ VX500 series is not only about durability though, with sequential read/write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 515MB/s and random read/write performance of up to 92,000 and 65,000 4KiB IOPS. Users can count on the VX500 SSDs to significantly boost system productivity compared to HDD storage. Lower power consumption versus hard disk drives are also a given.
The OCZ VX500 SATA SSD series will be available in four different capacities ranging from 128GB to 1024GB and will be backed by a 5-year Advanced Warranty Program, created to provide reliable customer service and mitigates the frustration surrounding warranty and support claims. Additionally, each VX500 SSD comes bundled with Acronis® True Image™ cloning software for users to easily transfer their data to the new SSD and enjoy a smooth upgrade experience.
Pokdepinion: The OCZ VX500 SSDs seem pretty great with MLC NAND and also pretty great speeds. However we aren’t even sure if they will be available in Malaysia.
