Transcend’s latest portable SSD, the Transcend ESD250C, is a stylish looking drive. It comes in a compact space gray metal enclosure, but that’s not the main highlight of the external SSD. The Transcend ESD250C takes advantage of the latest USB 3.1 Gen2 interface to make full use of the speedy solid state storage inside.

USB 3.1 Gen2 goes up to 10 Gbps, which is plenty to make full use of SATA-based SSDs. USB 3.1 Gen1 only goes up to 5 Gbps, which will bottleneck the fastest SSDs. In addition to the fast interface, the Transcend ESD250C also supports UASP for faster transfers over USB 3.0.

The Transcend ESD250C is equipped with a USB Type-C port, perfect for the latest PCs, smart devices and anything with the ability to serve as a host to the drive. It comes with a USB Type-C cable as well as a USB Type-C to Type-A cable for compatibility with older systems.

Available in either 240GB or 480GB capacities, the Transcrend ESD250C Portable SSD is backed by Transcend’s 3-year limited warranty. It also comes with Transcend Elite to make backups, encryption and even cloud backups a breeze.

Pokdepinion: I would probably lose it within a week if I used one, it’s so small!
