Upcoming PS5 Could Be Compatible With Games From Previous Playstations

While it is not confirmed yet on when exactly Sony’s PS5 will come out to the market, well it seems that it may have a feature that will excite retro fans of the console family.

It’s been reported through a patent, that the upcoming Playstation 5 will not only be upgraded to play next-gen titles, but additionally will be also capable of emulating Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, and also the original Playstation games.

Numbered 2019-503013, the patent was filed by Mark Cerny, who is the lead architect for Sony’s Playstation 4. He describes it as a process that allows the next-gen CPU to “interpret” that the CPU of previous machines.
