Xiaomi Malaysia lowers prices in spite of rising costs due to coronavirus

The recent coronavirus epidemic has caused quite a stir in China, as production lines grind to a halt. This has resulted in a global effect, causing price of goods to rise, with China hosting most of the manufacturing facilities in the world. RAM, graphics cards and even smartphones expected to see price hikes over the next few months. But there might be some reprieve for us.

Xiaomi has been monitoring the 2019-nCoV issue closely and is involved in aiding the effort to help combat the virus in China. Xiaomi also noted that the issue also led to their costs increasing, but rather than transferring the increased costs to the end user, Xiaomi will actually lowering the prices of their affordable smartphones even further.

To that end, they will be offering the Redmi 8, Redmi Note 8 and Mi Note 10 series. The promotion is as follows:
