The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is now officially available here in Malaysia, with pricing starting from as low as RM1299. The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE offers most of the features of the Xiaomi Mi 9 with a smaller 5.97″ package and a more affordable price. As if the Xiaomi Mi 9 isn’t affordable enough, right?

You will be getting a 5.97″ AMOLED Dot Drop display with the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, giving you a footprint similar to a traditional 5.1″ device. In that footprint Xiaomi managed to cram it chock full of premium specifications, including an in-screen fingerprint scanner, just like the Xiaomi Mi 9.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE shares the RAM, storage, primary camera and selfie camera configuration of the Mi 9. The supplementary rear cameras are also of a lower resolution, but probably the biggest downgrade is the tiny 3070 mAh battery.

Xiaomi Malaysia will be offering the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE on Lazada, Shopee and also physical Mi Stores in Piano Black and Ocean Blue. Just like with the Xiaomi Mi 9, you will have to wait for the Lavender Violet variant of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE.

For early birds who get the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE from 4th May to 12th May, you will also receive a 10 000 mAh Mi Power Bank 2S worth RM79. What do you think of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE?
