Appearance

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Lid

The Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 is a business laptop, and like the 9510 2-in-1 we reviewed previously, the design is more business-oriented. You get a clean, metallic lid in silver with the Dell logo taking center stage. It’s a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but it’s not too bad.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Open up the lid

Open up the lid, which you can easily do so with one hand, and you’ll see the 15-inch Full HD IPS display, white backlit chiclet keyboard, a trackpad, and product stickers. The power button on the top-right corner of the keyboard doubles as a fingerprint reader. All four bezels on the display are very thin but the top and bottom bezels are just a bit thicker. The webcam is located on the top bezel alongside the privacy shutter.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Ports

On the left side, you can find a Thunderbolt 4 port, an air vent, a combo audio jack, and a smart card reader. As for the right side, you will find a microSD card reader, the SIM card slot, another Thunderbolt 4 port, a USB-A port, an HDMI port, and the wedge lock slot. There’s nothing on the rear except for a small exhaust and a view of the hinges.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Bottom

Moving over to the bottom, you will three rows of air vents, two thin rubberized feet on the top and bottom, some product details and product stickers. You can find eight exposed screws here, which will need to be removed if you want to check out the internal components.

Overall, the Dell Latitude 7320 is a clean, classy business laptop that can easily fit anyone. There’s nothing that makes it truly stand out in terms of design but despite being thicker than the Latitude 9510 2-in-1 we reviewed previously, it’s still very light and easy to bring around.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – CrystalDiskMark

Starting off our benchmark suite with CrystalDiskMark, you can see that you get high speeds with the 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD that the Dell 7320 2-in-1 is using as its primary storage device. This would equate to ultra-fast loading speeds / boot up times, and the capacity is definitely more than adequate given it’s a business laptop.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Cinebench R15

Moving on to Cinebench R15, the Intel Core i7-1185G7 performed decently but I expected to have a higher score, particularly for the single core performance. It’s lower than the Intel Core i7-10810U and not much higher than the Celeron N4000, though it doesn’t feel like it outside of benchmarks.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Cinebench R20

On Cinebench R20 on the other hand, the single core performance seems more up to par but the multi-core performance is relatively low instead. I would expect it to be slightly higher than the Intel Core i7-1165G7 in both aspects but that’s clearly not the case here. Perhaps there is some optimization work due here.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Unigine SuperPosition 4K Optimized

Now taking into accounts its graphical capabilities, the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 performed as we expected it, breaking the 1,000 point mark but can’t really do much higher. After all, this is the 4K Optimized benchmark, which will require a powerful GPU to get a decent score. In comparison, something as simple as the GTX 1650 could yield such a big difference in score.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – 3DMark Time Spy

A similar pattern can be seen in 3DMark’s Time Spy benchmark, with the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 reaching very close to the 1,500 mark. If you want to see a better score, will definitely need something stronger than an Intel Iris Xe, but it’s still a noticeable leap forward compared to Intel UHD Graphics.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – PCMark 10

As for PCMark 10, the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 performs pretty well across all areas, and I’m genuinely surprised that it managed to break the 5,000 mark for Digital Content Creation. I expected lower but that just means good news for anyone who plans on getting this as it will give you an edge in versatility in a portable package. However, do temper your expectations in that area.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Battery life

When it comes to battery life, this type of laptop usually excels in the area. In fact, the previous Latitude laptop outperformed every other laptop we’ve ever benchmarked by a huge margin. For the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 however, it managed to last an admirable 11 hours and 42 minutes (702 minutes) in the PCMark Modern Office endurance test. This means that you should be able to use it a full day without needing to charge it.

User Experience

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

The Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 is an ultraportable productivity laptop designed for businesses. It’s powered by the Intel Core i7-1185G7 with two sticks of 8GB LPDDR4X RAM clocking in at 4266MHz, and a speedy 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD. The Intel Iris Xe Graphics isn’t particularly strong but it still performs decently. Would be nicer if it had a discrete GPU but given the nature of this laptop, it’s understandable.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

This laptop uses a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS display with touchscreen support and 360° rotatable hinge. The colours are nice and punchy, while viewing angles are great. However, the screen is rather dim at max brightness. While you would easily be able to use this for office work, watching videos and surf the web, it’s not meant for colour-accurate work. Keep in mind that the webcam above the display does have a privacy shutter, which is a great additional security feature to have for that peace of mind.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Rear

As for ports, the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 has a decent array of ports. You get two Thunderbolt 4 ports which supports a variety of uses including PD charging and DisplayPort, a USB Type-A port with PowerShare so you can charge USB devices even when the laptop is off, an HDMI port, a combo audio jack, a microSD card reader, a smartcard reader, and a wedge lock slot. I personally would have liked it if they managed to include at least one more USB Type-A port and a full-sized SD card reader but given the size, it’s adequate.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Power button / fingerprint reader hybrid

The keyboard on the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 is pretty comfortable to use. You get decent tactile feedback, white backlighting, and short travel distance with no flex. The power button can be found here on the top-right corner, which also doubles as a fingerprint reader which works really fast and with great accuracy. It’s certainly one of the better ones out there and I personally have no complaints with this. The trackpad is there and it works fine but there’s nothing worth shouting out.

As this is a Dell machine, it does come with a suite of Dell software that you can make use of. This includes Dell Power Manager, Dell Command, and Dell Digital Delivery. All of these are designed to make your life easier, such as serving as a hub to get important software and driver updates, battery maintenance, and more.

Dell Latitude 9510 Review

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Dell Optimizer

The most notable thing here is the new Dell Optimizer feature. Utilizing AI technology, it optimizes the laptop based on how you use it. This will result in improved performance for applications, extended battery life, and audio as it adapts accordingly with your environment. Using the software, you add specific software to be optimized, adjust power settings, manually adjust the audio settings, and more.

Given that it is a Dell machine, I figured it would come with the Dell Mobile Connect software so you can wirelessly link your smartphone to the laptop. Interestingly, it doesn’t have it pre-installed and it can’t be installed from the Microsoft Store. Perhaps there is an alternative way of obtaining it directly via Dell.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review – Webcam privacy shutter

In the sound department, the speakers on the Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 works well enough. The bottom-firing speakers can get rather loud, with relatively clear mids and highs, although the bass is clearly lacking. For most people, I believe it will be able to serve them well but if you want something more immersive, you can always use a headset instead.

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Verdict

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review -

Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 Review

The Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 is a pretty fine business laptop that should serve any company well. It’s very light and portable, 360° rotatable display, adequate memory configuration, decent array of ports, additional security features with convenience in mind, touchscreen support even with active pens, and good battery life.

It’s not the perfect business laptop however as the CPU seems to be oddly lagging behind its 11th and 10th Gen counterparts, would improve versatility greatly with discrete graphics, display is rather dim, the design is rather bland, and it is pricey at RM10,785.77. Personally, I would prefer the Latitude 9510 2-in-1 instead but if this one can meet your business needs, it’s definitely far from a bad choice.

At the end of our Dell Latitude 7320 2-in-1 review, I award this business laptop with our Silver Pokdeward.
