Logitech has been a growing from strength to strength. In July 2015 they announced a new minimalistic logo, and now they are also buying Jaybird, a company renowned for great sports audio equipment. This is actually the second audio equipment company under Logitech, as they have already acquired Ultimate Ears way back in 2008.

The Swiss company is acquiring Jaybird for $50 million in cash, with an additional earn-out of up to $45 million based on achievement of growth targets over the next two years. Similar to Ultimate Ears, Jaybird will remain an independent subsidiary of Logitech and continue designing, and selling, what they know best; premium wireless audio for sports.

Judd Armstrong, founder and chief executive officer of Jaybird, said, “It has been an incredible journey. We love what we do, and we’re stoked to continue to innovate and bring amazing new products to our fans. Jaybird will benefit from Logitech’s global distribution network and deep engineering prowess. We’ve watched as they’ve connected incredible products with passionate consumers under the UE brand, and we’re thrilled to be part of the team.”

Pokdepinion: I wonder if we will see Ultimate Ears working together with Jaybird to bring us their next generation of wireless sports audio equipment, because that will be great, eventhough I am not a fan of sports in particular.
