The Logitech G family will get just a little bigger with the Swiss company acquiring ASTRO Gaming for $85 million in cash. The deal is expected to close in early August. ASTRO has a strong presence in the gaming audio market, with premium headphones and DACs designed for gamers.

ASTRO is famous for their premium console headsets, while Logitech G is better known for their PC gaming peripherals. This acquisition of ASTRO allows Logitech to complement their range of Logitech G PC gaming hardware with ASTRO’s line up of console audio equipment. Logitech will be able to reach an even wider audience through this acquisition.

ASTRO is Logitech’s second acquisition of audio equipment brands, the first being Ultimate Ears, which is a manufacturer of professional custom in-ear monitors and consumer earphones. Logitech plans to further integrate the business and invest to expand ASTRO internationally.
