Razer BlackShark V2 Esports Gaming Headset Officially Launched

The folks over at Razer have officially launched two new gaming headsets catered to Esports, and they are the Razer Blackshark V2 and V2 X. Both headsets are designed with comfort and performance that would make them suitable for competitive gaming.

Claimed to be the definitive Esports gaming headset by the company, the Razer BlackShark V2 features the all-new Razer TriForce Titanium 50mm drivers for brighter sound, crisp vocals, richer trebles, and punchy bass. With the help of THX Spatial Audio, you can also an immersive 360° sound in a wide variety of games.

The all-new Razer TriForce Titanium 50mm Drivers is titanium-coated for improved vocal clarity. It features an all-new patented design which enables for individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows to suit your listening experience. According to the company, “it’s like having 3 drivers in 1.”

As communication is key in competitive games, this gaming headset comes with the Razer HyperClear Cardioid Mic for clear vocals. We’ll test this claim out ourselves and see if it’s as good as claimed.

Exclusive to this variant, it has a USB Sound Card for additional audio and mic controls. This also means that it’s compatible with a variety of platforms as you can use either the USB Sound Card of the 3.5mm audio connector. For comfort, the Razer BlackShark V2 comes with ultra-soft breathable memory foam cushions so you can wear this for long hours without problems. It is said to have advanced passive noise cancellation.

The Razer BlackShark V2 X is the more affordable, entry-level Esports gaming headset. It features an over-ear closed cup design for better passive noise cancellation, an all-new Razer TriForce 50mm Drivers, and 7.1 surround sound for an immersive gaming audio experience. Razer used a lightweight breathable memory foam ear cushions for added comfort.

The Razer TriForce 50mm Drivers used here allows for individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows to suit your listening experience. According to the company, “it’s like having 3 drivers in 1” as the separation of audio frequencies can generate brighter sound, crisp vocals, richer trebles, and punchy bass.

Just like the premium variant, this one comes with the Razer HyperClear Cardioid Mic for clear voice communications. The difference here is that there is no USB sound card as the headset solely uses a 3.5mm audio connector, and that the microphone itself isn’t removable. It’s still compatible with a wide variety of gaming platforms.
