Sony Malaysia has recently unveiled a new addition to their soundbar lineup. It’s known as the Sony HT-S20R and it’s a 5.1 channel soundbar powered with Dolby Digital technology. It’s expected to deliver high quality sound with a 400W power output.

The Sony HT-S20R gives you 5.1 channels of real surround sound so you can experience dynamic, immersive, and cinematic surround sound with its rear speakers, external speakers, and 3 channel soundbar. You can easily pick the most suitable mode for the content you are consuming with a click of a button. Modes range from Auto, Standard, Cinema, Music, Night, and Voice modes. Moreover, you can fine tune the subwoofer to your liking.

It is also expected to be easy to setup, with Sony claiming you can have it up and running in just mere “seconds”. Simply plug it in, position the external subwoofer, wire up the rear speakers and you’re ready to go. You can connect the soundbar easily via HDMI ARC (audio return channel). For TVs / displays that lacks ARC support, you still have the option of connecting to it via optical or analog input.

You can easily play music on the Sony HT-S20R. You can either choose to connect it to your smartphone wirelessly via Bluetooth, or make use of the USB port and play music from a USB storage device.

Retail price for the Sony HT-S20R hasn’t been revealed yet. However, it will officially be coming to Malaysia sometime this June 2020.

Pokdepinion: I’m very keen on giving this soundbar a try. Looks interesting and if it’s easy to setup, I’m all in.
