At Computex 2018, Acer has managed to capture the d&i gold award for design, where it claimed four of the award. The company has also earned three Computex Best Choice Awards where they triumph in the fields of IoT, gaming, and also mobile communications.

Acer Computex d&i Awards

The Computex d&i (design and innovation) award winners were chosen by a jury of panel comprised of international experts gathered in Taipei, assessing a total of 212 entries from 10 countries.

Thus, they’ve made the Acer Chromebook 11 as one of the winners of the d&i gold award. Aimed for the education market, the Chromebook 11 can handle most bumps and spills and includes optional 4G LTE for connectivity and access to data on the go. For protection, its corner-shield structure and rubber bumber keyboard help protect the notebook, which in its case, it can tolerate drops from heights up to 48-inches.

Next to receive the award is the Acer Chromebox. Coming with three modes; flat, stand, and VESA, it’s easy to be placed anywhere. Perfect for computer labs and libraries, it sports a dual antenna design, providing quick and reliable wireless connection.

Acer Swift 7 also join into the frame, being the world’s thinnest laptop, being just 8.98mm wide, it’s designed for mobility. Packed with an Intel Core i7 processor, as well as 4G LTE connection with embedded SIM, the Swift 7 offers looks as well as performance.

Finally we have the Acer Switch 7 Black Edition. It is the world’s first fanless 2-in-1 notebook that is equipped with discrete graphics. Also designed for mobility, it weights less than 1.18kg with the keyboard detached.

Computex Best Choice Awards

Acer Air Monitor is first up on the Best Choice Awards. Just as you can tell from it’s name, it monitors the quality of air (indoor). It can be observed via a dedicated app on your smartphone.

Following that is the Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset, where it lets users interact with software using gestures, gaze, and voice. Its bundled Acer motion controllers uses Bluetooth so gamers can interact with digital objects in mixed reality.

Next, is the Acer Leap Beads (yeap, you read that correctly). They are smart prayer beads that Buddhist can use to count the number of times they have chanted their mantra with a chip tracking often the mala has been rotated through their hands. This makes them easier to focus on the chant and not be distracted with counting.

Pokdepinion: I certainly wasn’t expecting that beads addition though.
