One day, machines will take over the planet and humans will be extinct. Well not today, at least. Technology has always been advancing throughout our lives to ease our daily routine. Coming to the topic, recently LG has been recognized by Seoul National University (SNU) Robotics and Intelligent Systems Lab as the most human-like robotic vacuum cleaner in the industry for their LG HOM-BOT.

At LG we take tremendous pride in developing not only the best appliances but the smartest appliances as well. And what we’ve learned in the home is also being applied to our newest robots outside the home, such as our Airport Robot, which will be going into service later this month at Incheon International Airport Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solutions Company

When we talk about artificial intelligence, what is it actually? Is it the ability to learn from experience? or is it the capability of performing some sort of work? Reason for the question being, according to SNU Robotics Lab, most of the robotic vacuum cleaners out there in the market have the ability to learn. However, not all of them learn at the same cognitive level.

In their test, the HOM-BOT Turbo+ ranked the highest in their series of test in terms of perception, judgement and action. It received a ranking of ‘Child’ where other products earn ranks of ‘Ape’ and ‘Dolphin’.

When all is said and done, it still doesn’t change the fact. Robots are still robots. There are sure to be errors and malfunctions even though it is ‘human-like’. Not saying that it is of no help though. Just don’t expect for everything to be perfect to say the least.

Pokdepinion: Sure, who doesn’t like things to help around the house. Just make sure you don’t spoil yourself too much. Some things are better done by yourself.
