We’ve all been there, a period in a foreign land where the WiFi gives you limited access and the chance of streaming a programme from back home is almost impossible.

We’re always a bit dubious logging on, after all who knows who else is going to be connected to the public WiFi we’re enjoying in our hotel or coffee shop. That’s why it’s better to be safe than sorry.

These are the Countries Where You Desperately Need To Download A VPN 21

Logging on to public WiFi can, in unlikely circumstances it has to be said, risky. It can attract hackers and if you have important business files or personal information it can get into the wrong hands.

A VPN will help you get around this and is well work exploring if you are regularly out of the country and often connecting to public internet connections whether it be via mobile or laptop.

But where in the world is it best to purchase a VPN? We take a look at the countries where censorship is at its highest…

UAE

Dubai is one of the most popular places on the planet for tourists and business people alike, so you’d perhaps be surprised by the fact internet censorship is huge.

If you’re wanting to connect to the likes of US Netflix it’s worth investing in a VPN. The best VPN for iPhone in UAE will allow you to connect to servers from across the world giving you full access to what you want, instead of being limited to what UAE laws allow.

Cuba

In the next few years Cuba is going to become more and more liberal but currently it’s a highly censored nation that, online, will only bring you internet at government access points.

Generally speaking only pro government activity is allowed and IP addresses will be blocked based upon any “unlawful” internet history.

China

It’s perhaps no surprise you’ll need a VPN in China. It has one of the most strict censorship schemes in the world and doesn’t even allow for social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The country will also delete content that doesn’t suit their agenda and redirect any anti-government searches to ones that are pro-regime.

Vietnam

A popular spot for tourists travelling Asia is Vietnam, but if you’re wanting to catch up on Peaky Blinders or Game of Thrones, you better think again.

Yahoo, Google and Microsoft have to submit all blogger data coming from Vietnam and will also block any sites that are for democracy, freedom of religion and pro-human rights.
