13th Gen Intel Core “Raptor Lake” CPU Officially Revealed

The highly anticipated and rumoured 13th Gen Intel Core CPU, codenamed Raptor Lake, has finally been revealed in its entirety.

We have a total of six new CPUs, three if you consider each one having a variant with and without internal graphics, in the 13th Gen Intel Core “Raptor Lake” CPU. Starting off with the Intel Core i9-13900K / 13900KF, it has 24 cores consisting of 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores with 68MB combined L2 and L3 cache. The boost clock can go up to 5.8GHz and it will be retailing for $589 and $564 respectively.

Then we have the more mainstream choice, the 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700K / 13700KF. with 16 cores consisting of 8 performance and efficiency cores. They will be retailing for $409 and $384 respectively. As for the cheapest model, the Intel Core i5-13600K / 13600KF, it 14 cores consisting of 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. These will be retailing for $319 and $294 respectively.

From what we know thus far, Intel claims that these new processors will bring up to 15% improved single threaded performance and up to 41% improvement in multi-threaded performance. It’s worth noting that the upgrades are mostly due to increased frequency and number of threads. As for the new and top of the line Intel Z790 motherboard for this CPU series, you get more PCIe Gen4 lanes and USB 3.0 Gen 2×2 20Gbps.

It’s said that the Intel Core i9-13900K is 37% faster while still using the same 241W TDP. As for when you can get your hands on these CPUs, it will be available starting 20th October 2022 alongside the new Z790 motherboards.

Pokdepinion: I just upgraded to an i5-12600K, and this is making me think on whether I should buy it or not.
