The new AMD Ryzen processors officially hits Malaysian shore! Also, a sneak peek into the RX500 series.

We’ve all heard about it, and many of us are looking forward to it. The newest line of processors set to disrupt the market completely by offering powerful processors at an affordable price range.

AMD Malaysia has finally launched the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 processors in Malaysia. Not only that, they also gave us a look into what we can expect from the RX500 series of graphics cards.

AMD Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 Officially Launched

In a launch event at Kota Damansara, AMD Malaysia has officially launched the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 processors in Malaysia. The fun part was that the Ryzen processors were delivered via a drone, which is seen just below here.

AMD claimed that it’s a good time to be a gamer, as these new Ryzen processors are able to give performance at an affordable price. They even shared how their Ryzen 5 processors stacked against a particularly familiar rival.

As you can see here, the prices start from RM819 onwards, with the most powerful Ryzen 5 processor priced at RM1,199. Of course, we at Pokde would like to verify those stats ourselves by testing it but for now, we’ll just have to take AMD’s word for it. The Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 is already available in Malaysia, with the Ryzen 3 slated for release in the 2nd half of 2017.

But that’s not all, folks.

A Glimpse Into the RX500 Series

Not only were we shown the new Ryzen processors, AMD Malaysia took one step further by giving us a look into the RX500 series of graphics cards.

As you can see here, the RX500 series GPUs utilizes the latest FinFET 14 architecture, allows for more aggressive tuning to get higher clocks, and support for DirectX 12, FreeSync, Radeon Relive and Radeon Chill technology

There’s a lot here to take note of but the one interesting here is the Radeon Chill technology that comes with the RX500 series. Radeon Chill is an AMD cooling technology, where specific games can take advantage of higher refresh rates while the GPU uses less power and therefore, runs at a lower temperature.

While there aren’t many games that support this feature at the moment, AMD noted that 2 of the biggest games around right now, DotA 2 and League of Legends, can use this feature. For us, we’re excited at the fact that it’s the same case for Overwatch.

At the moment, there is no official price yet for the RX500 series graphics cards. We will have to wait a bit longer for that bit of information to be officially released.

Pokdepinion: Not going to lie, the AMD Ryzen processors are probably the most exciting thing to hit the PC component world in a while. I wouldn’t personally call the performance groundbreaking but its price is what makes it superbly attractive. I want to see what Intel has in mind to counter the AMD Ryzen processors. After all, competition is healthy.
