AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors leaked by e-tailer
We have previously reported about a rumor of what AMD’s Zen 2 architecture will bring to the table There are apparently up to 16-threaded CPUs in the new Ryzen 9 family of processors, as well as much higher clocks than what we have seen with the current crop of AMD Ryzen processors. It seems that the rumors have been confirmed.
A Russian e-tailer has accidentally (or intentionally?) leaked out information regarding the upcoming AMD Ryzen 3000 processors on their site, just in time before CES 2019. Somehow they just revealed everything from core count to core clocks, but somehow just didn’t leak out the pricing.
So based on the listings, we will have AMD Ryzen 9, Ryzen 7, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 processors, all based on the new 7nm FinFET Zen 2 (Matisse) cores. AMD has bumped up the core count across the range as well, with the Ryzen 3 starting with 6 cores now, and the new Ryzen 9 sporting 16 cores.

If AMD prices them similarly to what they are selling the current AMD Ryzen processors for, Intel would be stuck between a rock and a hard place. Intel is pricing their 9th Generation Intel Core processors quite exorbitantly while also running into supply issues, due to the fact that they can’t expand 14nm production capacity, and 10nm is not ready for mass production yet.
Pokdepinion: Wow these look really cool. And they will be based on AM4 still, so if you upgrade from previous Ryzen processors you don’t even need to buy a new motherboard!
