AMD has a strong lead when it comes to their GPU technology, and the latest 3DMark Fire Strike scores spotted by @_rogame clearly shows that. A 15W AMD Ryzen 5 4650U whooped a 25W Intel Core i7-10710U by a good 82.4% in the graphics benchmark.

The Core i7-10710U reportedly belongs to one of the Intel NUC systems, and thus has the advantage of being able to run at the higher 25W TDP. You can see that the processor runs at a higher 1.6 GHz base clock, but that doesn’t help it one bit as the lower AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U absolutely handed its behind to it.

According to the 3DMark Fire Strike scores, the AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U delivered a 80.1% better Graphics Score than the Core i7-10710U, indicating an immense lead when it comes to graphics performance. It does have a worse time in the Physics tests though which tests the CPU department. While AMD threw in their latest Zen 2 architecture in the AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile processors, it still doesn’t make up for the 700 MHz higher boost clocks that the Core i7-10710U offers.

Still, as a whole, a system with the AMD Ryzen 5 4650U should deliver better gaming performance than one powered by the Core i7-10710U, considering all things being equal. Intel will probably have to fight back with more cores and higher-clocked 10nm parts, although whether that’s possible still remains to be seen.
