AMD Ryzen 7040HS Series Launch Pushed Back To April

Waiting for AMD’s latest Ryzen 7040 series processors? AMD says you’ll need to wait a bit more. Per Anandtech – last Friday AMD says the upcoming Ryzen 7040HS series laptops will have their respective availability delayed from March to April.

To align with platform readiness and ensure the best possible user experience, we now expect our OEM partners to launch the first notebooks powered by Ryzen 7040HS Series processors in April.

The Ryzen 7040HS series, codename “Phoenix”, is the first Zen 4 architecture mobile APU for laptops. (The Ryzen 7045HX “Dragon Range” is based on desktop versions of Zen 4.) Aside from that, it features the very first dedicated AI block aptly named Ryzen AI, powered by the new XDNA architecture. Pair it with RDNA3 graphics with up to Radeon 780M and a TSMC N4 manufacturing process, this is the most advanced Ryzen chip AMD has produced so far.

Pokdepinion: We’re already in mid-March, so it shouldn’t be far anyways. Looking forward to see what can the new dedicated AI block does, though.
