Intel has announced the latest Intel Xeon E-2300 Processors for Servers, delivering the performance gains of Rocket Lake to servers. The previous Xeon E-2200 series was based on Coffee Lake, so this will definitely bring a nice upgrade across the board for servers.

11th Gen Intel Core Rocket Lake processor features 2

For starters, Rocket Lake brings Cypress Cove cores, which Intel claims delivers up to 17% higher performance as compared to the previous generation. Officially supported memory speeds have also gone up, from DDR4-2666 to DDR4-3200. As you would expect, there’s unbuffered ECC memory support here. And of course, there’s the 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes that debuted with Rocket Lake, something that might really benefit server users who need faster networking or storage.

Another major difference is the inclusion of integrated Gen12 Graphics, which lets you connect a display directly to your server. The Intel Xeon E-2300 processors are designed to work with the Intel C250 PCH, which supports the x8 DMI 3.0 interface. The chipset itself hosts up to 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes, and comes with support for up to 3 USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, up to 10 USB 3.0 ports and up to 8 SATA ports.

As these are server parts, you do get Intel Server Platform 6 and Intel Management Engine v15 support. There’s also Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX), a feature which was not present on the consumer-oriented 11th Gen Intel Core processors.
