Acer Brings In New AIO Desktop and Monitors – Includes a surprise product

Acer’s Christmas in March

Acer is kicking off the year 2018 with the unveiling of a whole slew of new monitors and a new All-in-One desktop. The three monitors that have been revealed by Acer are the Acer XF270HA monitor, the Acer ED242QRA monitor, and the Acer EB321HQUB monitor. While the AIO desktop announced by Acer is the Acer Aspire S 24  with the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processors and (optional) Intel Optane memory.

Acer XF270HA monitor

The Acer XF270HA monitor is an entry-level gaming monitor that is 27 inches in size with a 1920×1080 Full HD resolution display and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The monitor also features AMD FreeSync technology which eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. It also possesses a 240Hz and fast response time of 1 ms GTG (Gray to Gray), therefore shortens the time required for frame rendering, thus lowers input lag.

Acer also equipped the XF270HA with Acer’s EyeProtect technology which incorporates several features including Flickerless, BluelightShield, Low Dimming and ComfyView display which should help reduce eye strain after prolonged use.

The Acer XF270HA monitor is available now in stores for a retail price RM 1,499.

Acer ED242QRA monitor

Next on the monitor list is the Acer ED242QRA. The Acer ED242QRA monitor is a 23.6 inch VA curved screen with a 1920×1080 Full HD resolution display and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is also has a 1800R curvature that offers great viewing angles (up to 178 degrees) as well as AMD FreeSync technology with a refresh rate of 144Hz.

The Acer ED242QRA supports HDMI and DisplayPort on FreeSync, which makes this perfect for some light gaming as well as entertainment. The monitor also features Acer’s EyeProtect technology such Flickerless, BluelightShield etc to help reduce eye strain. The monitor can also be tilted from -5° to 20° for comfortable viewing position.

The Acer ED242QRA monitor is available for purchase at a (surprisingly affordable) retail price of RM 799.

Acer EB321HQUB monitor

Now on to the big daddy of the three monitors unveiled by Acer, the Acer EB321HQUB monitor. The EB321HQUB is 31.5 inch monitor with 2560×1440 WQHD resolution IPS display and supports up to 10 bits colour depth and presents 1.07 billion reservoir of colours for best image quality and performance. It also supports HDMI and DisplayPort.

The Acer EB321HQUB has an impressive 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio which should produce sharper and clearer images while also possessing a 178 degrees viewing angle. The monitor also has a built-in 3W speakers that support audio in and out.

The Acer EB321HQUB monitor is also available now in stores with a retail price of RM 1,099.

Acer Aspire S 24 All-in-One desktop

Now on to the desktop Acer unveiled together with the three monitors mentioned above. The Acer Aspire S 24 All-in-One desktop is Acer’s slimmest ever desktop, featuring a sheer 5.97mm ultra-thin side profile. The Aspire S 24 desktop features a 23.8 inch monitor with a Full HD 1920×1080 IPS display with 178 degrees viewing angle. It has bezels measuring up to 2.7mm only which provides an impressive 90% screen-to-body for maximum screen space.

The desktop also features a 2.1 channel sub-woofer supported by Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology for powerful and deep bass audio experience.

The Aspire S 24 sports a 8th Gen Intel Core processor with optional Intel Optane memory together 32Gb of DDR4 RAM as well as 1TB HDD of storage space which should make the Aspire S 24 ideal for video and image editing. 

The Acer Aspire S 24 All-in-One desktop is available now in Acer authorised retailers for a retail price of RM 4,399.

Bonus: The Acer Nitro 5

Acer also showcased a surprise product in the form of their entry-level gaming laptop, the Acer Nitro 5. The Acer Nitro 5 is one of the first few laptops to feature AMD’s new and powerful Ryzen mobile processors in Malaysia. In this case, the Nitro 5 is powered the higher end AMD Ryzen 7 2700U processor as well as a separate AMD Radeon RX560X with 4GB DDR5 VRAM for some extra oomph in the graphics department.

The Nitro 5 features a 15.6 inch Full HD IPS display, dual channel 8GB DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 16GB DDR4 RAM), as well as a 128GB SSD + 1TB SATA HDD storage space. Other features of the laptop includes optimised Dolby Audio Premium sound enhancement and an estimated battery life of up to 5 hours.

There isn’t a definite price or release date for the Acer Nitro 5 as of yet. However, we were told that the laptop might be available sometime during the end of this month or early April.
