BenQ Malaysia today unveiled the world’s first cinema projector the W11000, the one and only DLP 4K UHD projector with prestigious THX certification. The W11000 boast 8.3 million pixels to offer a cinematic like experience at home.

The BenQ W11000 uses Texas Instrument’s 0.66-inch DLP 4K UHD DMD chip, which has a native 2716 x 1628 resolution. With the built-in XPR (eXpanded Pixel Resolution) technology the resolution can go up 3840 x 2160. However, the projector does not have interchangeable lenses.

The projector also employs 4 high-resolution elements, a true zoom system, and special low-dispersion lens coatings to preserve spectacular visual quality for an authentic digital cinema experience.

Precisely and calibrated for pure Rec. 709 compliance, W11000 underwent over 18 months of rigorous development and 200 THX laboratory tests covering over 500 data points to ensure strict color accuracy, precise gamma, ideal color temperature, enhanced uniformity, and super high native contrast ratio.

We watched some 4K movie clip with the BenQ W11000, the color reproduction is really on point and image quality was stunningly sharp.

The W11000 has two HDMI ports but only one port supports HDCP 2.2 and 4K upscaling. The rest it also sports a VGA port and a single USB type mini B. The W11000 is priced at RM 23800 and just for this week they have a special offer just at RM18888 including installation and calibration fees.
