The AMD Radeon RX 590 is finally out! The Radeon RX 590 has been in the rumor mill for some time now, with them pointing to this being AMD’s mid-range card to bring the fight to the GeForce GTX 1060 with GDDR5X. While that remains to be seen, the AMD Radeon RX 590 is now officially a part of AMD’s GPU lineup.

The AMD Radeon RX 590 is priced at $279 (~RM1169), making it more expensive than the AMD Radeon RX 580 despite sporting similar features. Of course, the market price of the AMD Radeon RX 580 was never at the launch price due to the demand from miners.

The AMD Radeon RX 590 sports the same 2304 stream processor count, but bumps up the boost clocks to 1545 MHz, enabled by the move to the 12nm FinFET manufacturing process. This is a good 205 MHz higher than the Radeon RX 580, giving it a nice performance gain of around 15%. Of course, third party AIBs will usually release higher clocked cards, which will definitely offer better performance.

It is still based on the AMD Polaris architecture, and will come with 8GB of GDDR5 clocked at 8 Gbps. Once again, AIBs might clock their memory higher, but you won’t get anywhere near what GDDR5X can do.

Will you be considering the AMD Radeon RX 590 cards, since that NVIDIA’s mid-range Turing cards seem to be some distance away? Let us know!

Pokdepinion: 15% extra performance for a $50 higher launch price… Hmm, not sure how is that justified…
