The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is expected to be NVIDIA’s answer to the sub-$300 graphics card market, by utilizing a new GPU based on the Turing architecture, sans RT and Tensor cores. Just pure CUDA horsepower. And it does seem to be pretty beefy!

The GeForce GTX 1660 Ti has been spotted on the Final Fantasy XV benchmark tool’s chart. It slots in just below the GeForce GTX Titan X, while slightly outperforming a GeForce GTX 1070. Now the FFXV benchmark tool may not be the most reliable of benchmarks, but it does serve well to gauge the performance gaps between the various NVIDIA graphics cards.

As it stands, it appears to be a much faster card as compared to last generation’s GeForce GTX 1060. Given that it is slated to be priced at around $279 (~RM1138), the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti should be quite the value buy for gamers who just don’t need the RT or Tensor cores.

These are the rumored specifications of the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti:

Key GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Specifications:

  • TU116 @ up to 1770 MHz Boost, 12nm FinFET
  • 1536 CUDA cores
  • 6GB GDDR6 @ 12 000 Gbps, 192-bit memory interface
  • 120W TDP
  • $279 (~RM1138)

Are you looking forward to the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, or would you rather pick up one of the GeForce RTX cards to enjoy RTX and DLSS? Let us know in the comments!

Pokdepinion: A GeForce RTX 2060 does seem like a pretty good option if I wanted a new card now, but the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is probably targeted towards gamers coming from the Maxwell or older generations.
