RTX 2080 SUPER On Par with TITAN V in Leaked Benchmark

RTX 2080 SUPER On Par with TITAN V in Leaked Benchmark 28

We’ve been seeing some interesting details on the GPU side and today, it’s going to continue. Some leaked benchmarks on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER have surfaced and it appears that its performance is on par with the NVIDIA TITAN V GPU.

The data is from the Final Fantasy XV benchmark tool, with the score being listed in the public benchmark database. The RTX 2080 SUPER is shown to have a score of 8663 in the benchmark test running at 1440p resolution. The TITAN Xp has a lower score at 8484 while the TITAN V scored 8841. It’s also 7.4% much better than the regular RTX 2080 and 10.6% better than a GTX 1080 Ti. Yes, something much more affordable is able to perform just as good. Of course, this is data from just one benchmark, and it could still differ in other benchmarks.

NVIDIA has revealed the card’s specifications and it edges out 2080 in most areas; ~7% increase in base and boost clock speeds, a 10.7% increase to memory bandwidth, and 4.3% more cores.  While the specifications are pretty solid, it still falls behind the 2080 Ti, which surpasses it by 15% in Final Fantasy XV.

NVIDIA’s site declares the RTX 2080 SUPER exceeds the GTX 1080 Ti by roughly 35%. But it is worth noting that they did pick a couple of games with ray-tracing, something the GTX cards aren’t designed / optimized for.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER is said to be releasing on 23rd July 2019 for USD $699. It’s also expected to come bundled with Wolfenstein: Young Blood and Control for purchases made until 18th August 2019. For now, we shall wait and see.

Pokdepinion: Not exactly something very exciting if you ask me. I’d probably get something worthwhile with current offerings already but it’s still not a bad card.
