The AMD Ryzen platform is a great example of David duking it out with Goliath, offering great performance at prices that are downright cheap if compared with Intel’s offerings. Their GPUs look to draw a different picture though as the AMD Radeon RX Vega cards are rumored to be priced at at around $850.

Considering that thus far the AMD Vega cards are only shown to deliver performance around that of a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, this pricing will really make it hard for AMD to move these off store shelves. For comparison, the GeForce GTX 1080 goes for a whopping $680 while the GeForce 1080 Ti retails at $971 in Sweden.

Do take this bit of news with a strong dose of salt though, as it is very unlikely for AMD to actually try to sell a card that is both more expensive and slower than what the competition is offering.

Pokdepinion: AMD can’t seriously be doing this, right? After all the right they have done with Ryzen, here’s hoping Vega won’t be their undoing.
