“One Stick to Rule Them All”, this is what one of our editor described when he reviewing the early Intel Compute Sticks last year. Intel have announces three new of its Intel Compute Sticks now with new Intel Atom, Core M3 and Core M5 for more performances.

Intel-Compute-stick-2016-1

The new entry level Compute Stick run by an Intel Atom X5 Z8300, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB eMMC of storage with Windows 10 pre-installed. The Intel Atom version is says to have double the performance compared the old Compute Stick it even is getting better with extra USB 3.0 port.

Intel-Compute-stick-2016-2

Intel has making a solid decision by dump the Realtek chip solution for the network interface by favor its own Intel’s 7265 802.11ac wireless chip and Bluetooth 4.0. It’s still got a micro SD for expansion and the power still provided by a micro USB port.

Intel-Compute-stick-2016-3

Let’s get excited to the next model as Intel promised the Intel Core M version of Intel Compute Sticks is support for 4K video content at 30Hz, an USB Type-C and USB 3.0 port for faster transfer speed. For the Intel Core M version, the Compute Stick is included a power adapter provides two USB 3.0 ports.

Intel-Compute-stick-2016-4

Both Compute Stick pack 4GB of 1866Mhz LPDDR3 RAM, 64GB of eMMC storage and Intel 8260 802.11ac chip and Bluetooth 4.1. Both Compute Sticks will be using Intel Core M3-6Y30 and Intel Core M5-6Y57 with same Intel HD 515 iGPU. The Core M5 version will support Intel vPRO technology, a hardware-level security and have no pre-installed OS.

Intel-Compute-stick-2016-5

All the three new Intel Compute Stick will have almost the same body design with matte plastic, clean lines and rounded corners and a tiny fan to dissipate heat.

Intel-Compute-stick-2016-6

The latest Atom Intel Compute Stick will be available for USD 159 (approximately MYR700). The Core M3 Compute Stick for USD 399 (approximately MYR1750) while USD 499 (approximately MYR2200) for the Intel Core M5 version.

Pokdepinion: Actually I like the Atom version of Intel Compute Stick, there’s so much I can do with it like HTPC with Kodi, Netflix streaming PC, small home office PC or maybe a POS system?
