Lenovo Updates Its ThinkStation & ThinkPad Workstation Lineup
Today the company has just announced its latest ThinkStation and ThinkPad workstation models packed with latest Intel 13th Gen processors and NVIDIA workstation GPUs.
ThinkStation P3 Tower
The ThinkStation P3 series now comes in three sizing options: first is the all-new ThinkStation P3 Tower with full size chassis packing Intel 13th Gen CPU as well as NVIDIA RTX A5500 (Ampere generation), with up to 128GB DDR5, six drive bays and four PCIe slots all powered by power supplies rated up to 1100W. The smaller ThinkStation P3 Ultra packs all the same CPU and GPU within a much smaller sub-4L chassis, with an optional BMC (baseboard management controller) to be released later this year to offer remote monitoring and management. Meanwhile, the 1-liter ThinkStation P3 Tiny will pack NVIDIA’s T1000 GPU which supports up to six display outputs.
ThinkPad P16 Gen 2
On the ThinkPad lineup, the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 is touted as the brand’s most powerful 16-inch workstation laptop to date, with Intel 13th Gen HX series and NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada Generation responsible for performance. The laptop also comes with PCIe 5.0 storage and I/O support and up to 192GB of DDR5 to deal with the heaviest workloads. Meanwhile, the ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 is a slim-size workstation that comes with 16-inch OLED, Wi-Fi 6E, optional 4G LTE, all powered by NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada Generation GPU or GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.
ThinkPad P16v i Gen 1
The ThinkPad P16v i Gen 1 is the new model that bridges the gap between entry level and high end workstation laptops with 13th Gen Intel processors and NVIDIA RTX 2000 Ada GPU at disposal; finally the ThinkPad P14s i Gen 4 and P16s i Gen 2 promises long battery life with display options including OLED and low blue light panels, optional 5MP webcam and configurable up to NVIDIA RTX A500 GPU.
Lenovo lists three models now available or will soon be available for sale in Malaysia. The ThinkStation P3 Tiny will cost approximately RM4,262 and is now available; whereas the ThinkStation P3 Tower will set you back for around RM5,690 starting early June. The ThinkPad P16s i Gen 2 will arrive in late June, though no pricing information is available just yet.
