ASUS’ ROG Strix motherboards offer most of the ROG aesthetic with pared down specifications, allowing them to fit into a more affordable price bracket. Previously the top-of-the-line ASUS ROG Maximus XII boards have already been leaked, and now we will get to take a peek at the ROG Strix Z490 lineup.

The lineup will consist of seven boards, namely the ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming, ROG Strix Z490-F Gaming, ROG Strix Z490-A Gaming, ROG Strix Z490-H Gaming, ROG Strix Z490-G Gaming (WiFi), ROG Strix Z490-G Gaming and the ROG Strix Z490-I Gaming. Now that might seem pretty confusing, but just know that the features offered decrease as you go down the product stack from Z490-E to ROG Strix Z490-H, with the ROG Strix Z490-G being a mATX board and the ROG Strix Z490-I being an mITX board.

The above are the leaked specifications, with some highlights being the ROG Strix Z490-E offering a 14+2 powerstage VRM configuration, while the ROG Strix Z490-I serves up an 8+2 powerstage configuration. All the boards in between use a 12+2 powerstage setup. All of the ROG Strix Z490 boards offer display outputs to make use of the iGPU on the 10th Gen Intel Core processors, but the ROG Strix Z490-I offers a more advanced HDMI 2.0a port, versus the rest of the boards supporting the older HDMI 1.4 standard instead.

The diminutive ROG Strix Z490-I Gaming also promises support for the highest memory clocks, reaching up to 4800 MHz memory speeds, instead of the 4600 MHz that the rest of the ROG Strix Z490 boards promise. Of course it will all boil down to your RAM sticks themselves, but hey, at least the board is ready for some insane overclocks.

Finally a white ROG Strix board!

I think what should intrigue enthusiasts the most is the ASUS ROG Strix Z490-A Gaming which comes in a fancy white-silver color scheme. This should be a good alternative for those wanting a white ROG board but not willing to shell out top dollar for the ROG Maximus XII Extreme Glacial. For those preferring the classic red-black aesthetic, there’s also the ROG Strix Z490-H Gaming which sports striking red accents running across the board.
