This may not be the most detailed of all comparisons, but we intend to keep track of every vendor’s AMD X570 motherboard here. This should help you decide on which board to get here in Malaysia. Now, here’s how to read the tables.

In the VRMs section, I will be listing out the number of power stages. The power stages will be denoted as VCore + VSoC. The former is what you want to focus on, as that will be the one that will be feeding the CPU cores on your Ryzen processor.

Meanwhile the VCore phases row is where you will find the actual number of phases that the motherboard has. You will see configurations by ASUS that have up to three power stages per phase, while GIGABYTE goes all out with true 16-phase power delivery. If the board uses doublers, it will be denoted as 6*2, which means that the VRM controller puts out 6-phases, with the vendor using phase doublers to get the 12 asynchronous PWM signals. We sourced the info from this very helpful Reddit thread.

ASUS

ASUS has brought in three boards into Malaysia, namely the ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi), ROG Strix X570-F Gaming and the TUF Gaming X570-Plus (WiFi). ASUS does have a higher end ROG Crosshair VIII Formula as well as a series of more affordable ASUS Prime X570 boards which ASUS Malaysia didn’t bring into our market (yet?). Also ASUS has two ITX AMD X570 boards, none of which seems to have made it to Malaysia this time around.

MSI

MSI has an even larger assortment of boards, but they brought in all ATX boards. Interestingly, MSI still caters to PS/2 peripheral users with a PS/2 port even on their highest end MEG X570 GODLIKE. They are also the only vendor to bring in two E-ATX boards, with the MEG X570 GODLIKE directed at overclocking enthusiasts and gamers, while the PRESTIGE X570 CREATION is meant for content creators.

ASRock

If you are looking for bang-for-buck, ASRock may have something right up your alley with their AMD X570 boards. ASRock’s AMD X570 boards are some of the most affordable options we have spotted, and they are also the only vendor to offer a mATX board in Malaysia as far as we know. They also tie ASUS’ offerings in terms of SATA ports, so you will get to equip the ASRock AMD X570 boards with copious amounts of storage, as even the mATX X570M Pro4 offer eight SATA 3 ports.

How to pick your AMD X570 motherboard?

Well, it is important to pick your board based on your requirements. If you want to use an ITX or mATX board, your options are very limited at the moment. If you want ATX, options are abundant. Aside from that, all of these boards should have no problems handling the latest 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen processors.

In any case, it’s also quite  time to check out the additional features vendor bake into the board. Do you need WiFi? Do you want WiFi 6 (802.11ax)? Do you plan on using your board with integrated graphics for the time being while you start saving up for a 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen processor? Do you plan on overclocking? In any case, drop us a comment and we will try our best to help you!

Also if you spot any AMD X570 board which is offered in Malaysia that we didn’t list here, please do let us know! We will be updating this article if we come across any other AMD X570 boards, or if the listed vendors add more offerings to their lineup. Also do give us a heads up if we made any mistakes, because there are way too many boards to keep track of.

Would B450 enough to power 3700x or 3900x if no overclocking and PCIE 4.0 not much benefit seen yet as of now even for 5700 series GPU

That would depend on which B450 you are talking about, since there are quite a number of B450s in the market. But the general idea should be you would have no issue running a 3700X even if you use PBO, although a 3900X might be a bit more questionable.
