IKEA has just announced that they will be working with the Republic of Gamers (ROG) to develop a new range of affordable gaming furniture and accessories. While ROG’s branding is rarely seen on anything that can be described as “affordable”, maybe the Swedish company will help them come up with more wallet-friendly products.

This new range of products developed by IKEA and ROG will consist of about 30 products that will launch in China as early as February 2021, while the rest of the world will see them from October.

The new range of gaming furniture and accessories developed will be affordable, ergonomic, designed to increase performance while also blending in beautifully to homes. The latter presumably to keep the missus happier than the overtly gamer aesthetic that other gaming furniture sport will.

IKEA and ROG are holding workshops with professional gamers in Shanghai to explore the needs of gamers, so I am quite excited to see what the collaboration will bring to the market. IKEA has previously collaborated with UNYQ and Area Academy to bring forth some gaming accessories under the UPPKOPPLA range, although I am not exactly sure what happened to that lineup.

Pokdepinion: Skeptics will say “slap the word “gaming” on anything and jack up the price.” Hopefully that won’t be the case here.
