Weeks after the new Intel Skylake processors sales started, we can now witness lots of consumer-class DDR4 RAM in the market. Patriot just unveiled their latest Patriot Viper DDR4 8GB ( 2 x 4GB ) 3600Mhz kit. With the release of this new kit, it’s the fastest DDR4 RAM by Patriot with timings of 17-18-18-36 with a voltage rating of 1.35V.

Patriot Viper 4 is fully compatible with XMP 2.0 for quick configuration with manual overclocking options. Available worldwide, prices depend on retailers (I rarely see Patriot RAM in Malaysia) with a starting price of around RM 880. For a fast RAM kit like the Patriot Viper, the price is not that bad, actually.

Pokdepinion : Have you jumped on to the DDR4 bandwagon yet? If not, why? In my opinion. a DDR3-based system is still capable of doing the job. With the current Malaysian Ringgit exchange rate, I find no reason why you need to get an Intel Skylake system for gaming. For me, Haswell or Broadwell still does a good job for gaming. But for video editing or 3D rendering, you might benefit from a DDR4-based system.
