Kingston Ironkey Vault Privacy 50C Is Company’s First Hardware-Encrypted USB-C Drive
This hardened USB drive can fend off BadUSB and brute-force attacks, says the company.
In this year’s CES event, Kingston has brought their first-ever USB-C drive that comes with hardware encryption features: the Ironkey Vault Privacy 50C (IKVP50C). This AES-256 protected drive includes multi-password option with Complex or Passphrase modes which allow users to choose any combination of PIN, sentence with space characters, or a list of words which makes it easy to remember for the user but hard to guess for others.
Kingston also offers other hardware-encrypted storage solutions which includes the aforementioned VP50 series, FIPS 140-3 certified (pending) KP200 USB drive with built-in hardware keypad, or the VP80ES, company’s first OS-agnostic external SSD with touch panel built in.
On the same event, the company recaps on its new FURY product launches since the last time of their presence in CES. “It’s great to get back to in-person tradeshows but we’re especially glad to be amongst colleagues and friends at CES, ‘the global stage for innovation’ to share not just what we’ve been up to the past few years but also what’s coming from Kingston in 2023; we’re committed to delivering technology solutions that suit consumers’ everyday needs and we look forward to talking about them this week.”
The memory chipmaker continues its collaboration with Intel, showcasing its latest FURY memory kits and storage drives on Intel’s NUC systems.
