The PNY CS900 and CS1031 SSDs have officially been launched in Malaysia with very affordable prices, starting from as low as RM99.

Starting off with the PNY CS900, it’s a 2.5-inch SATA III SSD with read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 530MB/s respectively. Given the size and interface, it’s easy to make use of it for both desktops and laptops, making it rather versatile. They offer capacities ranging from 240GB all the way to 2TB.

The PNY CS900 will be available with 3 years warranty, and the prices are listed right below here:

  • 240GB = RM90
  • 250GB = RM103
  • 480GB = RM156
  • 500GB = RM160
  • 1TB = RM309
  • 2TB = RM499

Next up, we have the PNY CS1031 for those who are looking a speedier storage solution. It’s an M.2 2280 NVMe Gen3x4 SSD, and given the M.2 form factor, it’s also pretty versatile as it can be used for both desktops and laptops.

The speeds are noticeably faster than your standard SATA III SSD, going as high as 2,400MB/s and 1,750MB/s for read and write speeds respectively. Given the performance difference, you might think the prices would be substantially higher but you’d be surprised. Backed by a 5-year warranty period, the prices are:

  • 256GB = RM109
  • 500GB = RM155
  • 1TB = RM299
  • 2TB = RM579

Pokdepinion: Between the two, the 1TB CS1031 offers the best bang for buck in my opinion given the price-to-performance ratio as well as the speeds you’re getting. The longer warranty period is just a bonus to me.
