The folks at Grab Malaysia has released several interesting facts when it comes to tipping, especially since the MCO period.

Malaysians tipped over RM2.4 million

If you didn’t know, there’s an option on Grab where you can tip drivers and delivery riders to show gratitude to them. Well ever since the MCO period, Malaysians have been tipping quite a lot, over RM2.4 million to be precise.

Tipping on the platform has increased by over 75% and according to the company, the highest tip was RM500, which is needless to say is a lot.

According to Grab, it seems that Klang Valley generated the most tips but Kuala Terengganu received the highest average tips per booking in the country.

They’ve also mentioned that 1 in every 30 bookings across the platform has seen tips given. This is quite the change where it was only 1 in every 100 bookings before the MCO period.

Pokdepinion: Regardless of what platform, it’s nice to tip your driver/rider for their effort in helping you out.
