Shopee Code League is the largest code-from-home League in Southeast Asia and Taiwan and saw last year’s competition attracting 21,000 coders. 3,000 of those participants hailed from Malaysia with one managing a Top 10 place. The competition will be taking place from 6 to 20 March and will see teams of 2 to 4 people competing in three virtual competitions across data science, data analytics, and algorithms.

There are two categories in Shopee Code League 2021; one category is open for all participants while the other is open to students. The top-ranking teams of each category will see themselves walk away with SGD3,000 (RM9137.77) and a chance for a full-time or internship placement with Shopee. Shopee will also offer SGD500 (RM1522.96) as a special prize for the
top-ranked women’s team of both groups in a bid to encourage diversity and inclusion of women in tech.

Apart from the competitions, Shopee and its training partners will hold a series of free training workshops starting 19 February onwards to upskill and facilitate knowledge sharing amongst participants.

Pokdepinion: If I knew how to code I’d probably try my hand at this. For now, I’m pretty happy sitting on the sidelines and cheering on those who do join.
